Part-time Freelance Editor / Writer

Do typos, punctuation and grammar errors jump off the page when you see them? Do you immediately begin editing in your head and reword a phrase or sentence so it makes more sense? Does wordiness make you cringe? Can you spot when an online article or blog post isn’t using optimum on-page SEO practices?

If so, we would love to hear from you! We are seeking a part-time freelance editor / writer who can revise other writers’ work and occasionally do some writing.

Our ideal editors know how to do more than just proofread and correct typos, spelling, punctuation and grammar errors. They understand the “voice” of our clients and can ensure blog posts are conveying the appropriate conversational tone.

Our ideal editors can spot passive verbs and phrases and replace them with active. They can spot boring headlines and turn them into compelling ones that get clicked. They also can spot a potential factual error or inaccuracy, and do a few minutes of research to fix it. Our editors also occasionally help shape content by providing topic ideas to writers as they come across them.

Our ideal editors will have some experience with blog and web content writing and a background in journalism, public relations, marketing or communications. Some basic familiarity with on-page SEO practices such as using H2 and H3 headings, descriptive URLs, and proper keyword usage is necessary.
